lathe cut vinyl is an analogue medium like screenprinting or film photography. the lathe works like a turntable, but instead of playing, a diamond stylus cuts the music into the vinyl. no 'mother-record' is needed to duplicate.
every record is made in realtime, one by one. we don't use any pressing equipment and the cutting process is all handmade.
as lathe cutting is a handmade process, there will be some slight degree of variance with each copy - each one is unique. we will of course cut to the best of our abilities and take very good care with each vinyl record.

record labels can release a limited vinyl series for an upcoming event. artists can make a short run for to promo their next tour. vinyl DJs who are also producers, can play their own tracks or make 1x record full of DJ tools.
DISC_ARCHIVE cuts one-off records and short runs up to 50 copies depending on the record size. we are open to customizing orders for your project. just let us know what you're thinking and we can tell you if we are up for a collaboration.
our lathe cut records are not acetates, but PVC, and are specially formulated to resemble the durability, look, and sound of pressed vinyl.
